Home Made Rain Guard

Have a couple yards of rip-stop nylon, elastic, needle, thread, and an hour to waste? You too can make your own rain guard to slip over your hiking pack for snow/rain conditions!

I pretty much had to guess how to make this, but it came out perfectly as you can see modeled by my lovely assistant. Next outing should be coming up soon (next couple weeks) I'm thinking Desolation Valley.

  2. Dude, that came out sweet.

All thanks be to Joann. Or, at least, some of the thanks. I mean, the staff there was pretty helpful. Not that they gave you a pattern or anything, but they knew what was going on.

I'm glad they sold sour skittles.

  3. BTW, Matt is "quite" the seamstress (or would that be seamster?)
He actually whipped out the old sewing machine and "got er done" all by his self. Thank goodness for the Boy Scout's!
