I bartered and was able to trade some liquid crank and a box of coffin nails for this:

I think with about a gallon of Armor All and a bit of sewing with my stitch kit it should look good and hold up for a bit.
Next I located where I wanted the rear lights:

Cut em out and mounted em:

I am not super happy with the location, I think I would have liked them up higher but the fill nozzle was in the way so this is where they go for now. At some point when I change the rear corner guards out from the aluminum ones I have now, I may locate the nozzle to the side and move these up but this is where they stay for the time being.
Also I got started on the main body of the front bumper.
2"x4" tubing. 45'd the corners so they didnt look so boxy.

Here is how I capped the ends (2" x 1/8")

Mocked up the finished main piece:

And decided I liked it so much I would build one for the rear as well:

I haven't exactly figured out how I want to mount these things but I am thinking something like this for the rear:

Black is the existing frame, red is the gas tank. I would bolt through the existing frame and I think the 45's going out would give the entire rear the structure it would need to keep from flexing all around when I am later pulling a trailer.
Also, as this thing gets closer to finished I have to start thinking about paint... and that means my least favorite thing, body work:

Holy jeepsters you got a jeep? Awesome. I want a Small Block in there by Dec 5th.
